“They thought I was the queen!” – Local business wins Jubilee competition

DURING the Jubilee celebrations, Rotary of Whitehaven organized the Jubilee Window Dressing competition, which was won by local company Milltech Computers.

Whitehaven Rotary criticized them for their “fantastic window” and mentioned how impressed the judges were with the level of competition.

Haven Crafts placed second and Jean’s Flower Boutique was third.

Milltech Computers window was full of Jubilee themed decorations including streamers, balloons, Queen’s jewels, Queen’s crown. They even had a window dedicated to the Queen’s past memorabilia, and the other side was filled with more modern memorabilia.

WINDOW: The storefront was a worthy winner

Milltech staff were happy that their hard work had paid off:

“We were thrilled and over the moon. It was fantastic to win.”

They also went on to say how much effort went into the process, “I had collected stuff over time, but it took me a while.”

The award was presented on the same day as the street party Miltech attended, and one staff member even dressed up as a queen:

“I dressed up as the queen for our street party. Everyone had a great day including the kids. They thought I was the queen!”
